The Accelerated Community to Teacher (ACTT) Program is a part of an overarching strategy to increase the diversity of exemplary educators in the district’s teacher pipeline. The ACTT Program prepares racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse educators to become teachers with a preliminary license in a single content area including, but not limited to, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Secondary Mathematics, Science, English, History, or Humanities. Working in a cohort, participants will develop their teaching skills under the tutelage of highly-skilled BPS teachers and community partners through a rigorous, interactive, and hands-on experience. Participants will prepare a competency-based portfolio and complete a practicum in a BPS school. Upon completion of the program, participants may be eligible to earn up to six graduate credits towards completion of a Master’s degree.
The application for the Accelerated Community to Teacher (ACTT) Program is now open for 2020-21. Apply directly here.
