Nora Hassan
Project Manager, Bilingual Inclusive Education Residency
Nora has dedicated over 20 years to promoting educational and language equity, starting her journey as an ESL teacher for adults in Los Angeles. In BPS, she has worked as a classroom teacher, drama specialist, ESL teacher, and special education teacher, focusing on dual language instruction for multilingual students with disabilities. Additionally, she served as a Bilingual Teaching Specialist with the Teaching Fellowship and BE/ACTT programs.
Nora holds a B.A. in Theater and Dramatic Literature from Wheaton College, an M.A. in Theater Education from Emerson College, and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from UMASS Boston with the Boston Teacher Residency. As an alumna of the Perrone-Sizer Institute for Creative Leadership, her capstone project centered on implementing progressive reforms to address inequitable practices that hinder academic and social-emotional success for diverse populations. Nora's commitment to anti-racist education continues with the launch of the BIE Teacher Residency Program.
