Marisa Olivo

Director of Teacher Pipeline Programs

Marisa Olivo was a high school English teacher for seventeen years, much of that time in the Boston Public Schools. Alongside classroom teaching, Marisa has worked for over a decade mentoring teachers, developing and implementing authentic professional learning experiences and teacher education curriculum, and researching teacher preparation.

Grounded in these experiences, her work is an effort to contribute to rebuilding teacher preparation such that teachers are empowered to envision and enact classroom spaces for young people that are inclusive and intellectual, animated by curiosity about the possibilities that exist in the world.

As Director of Teacher Pipeline Programs, Marisa ensures that the pedagogies, programs, and practices of BPS Teacher Pipeline Programs cultivate educators who are committed to transforming public education to improve the lives of the young people of Boston.
