Chris Buttimer

Specialist, BPS Teaching Fellowship

Chris Buttimer is a specialist with the BPS Teaching Fellowship program, where he supports first-year teachers in Boston Public Schools. Previously, Chris taught middle school English Language Arts in Cambridge Public Schools, and for over a decade, he has focused on guiding instructional change for educators across Massachusetts and Georgia.

Since 2010, Chris has also been actively involved in organizing efforts with teachers, youth, and the community in BPS. He holds a reading specialist license and has extensive experience working with young people and educators to address inequities within and beyond school settings through youth participatory action research (YPAR).
