Ivelisse Santos-Hicks

BE/ACTT Aspiring Teacher Coach

Ivelisse began her teaching career in the Boston Teacher Residency program, after which she served as a secondary science teacher in BPS for 14 years. While teaching felt impactful, Ivelisse knew that she could have an even bigger positive impact on Boston students if she could help to improve schools and teaching.

Ivelisse began to coach high school students interested in becoming teachers in Generation Teach, and soon after, she became a coach to pre-service science teachers in the same program that gave her a start in education, BTR. Her role later expanded to coaching science teachers of record in BPS secondary schools. All of this ultimately led to her current role as the BE/ACTT Aspiring Teacher Coach, where she is enjoying preparing, coaching, and mentoring members of our school communities who are committed to serving our children by becoming highly qualified, anti-racist, compassionate, and committed educators in BPS.
